Tropics Group: The Art of Building an African Legacy Brand

In the vibrant world of African entrepreneurship, there’s a shining star that continues to illuminate the path of innovation and impact. That star is Tropics Group, a testament to my journey and vision as Vénicia Guinot. With the blessing of my Mom, “TROPICS” was named by my late mom Ms. Julienne Mankassa (UN Diplomat in Bazzaville, Rep. of Congo) as a special tribute to my late dad Mr. Marcel Guinot (Business Banker, International Cooperation Specialist, and VC in Brazzaville, Rp of Congo). The vision and leitmotiv is to position Africa as a land of talents shaping their continent’s future from inside out and also as a leading investment frontier.

At the age of 23, while pursuing my Bachelor of Commerce degree in South Africa, I embarked on a mission to create a legacy brand that celebrates Africa’s diversity, creativity, and potential on a global scale. This is the moment that gave birth to TROPICS MAGAZINE which emerged as the first bilingual magazine from Africa, catering to a cosmopolitan niche of readers.
